64” (162 cm) wide cotton piqué in a striped design. Pale grey with a narrow black stripe at 1” (2.5 cm) intervals. The stripes are horizontal as you would expect in a cloth that was made into T-shirts, or in this particular instance, golf shirts......

This is an early example of what people were trying to do to save cotton by adding a little bit of synthetic, in this case this is a 74% cotton/26% polyester procured, pre-shrunk, traditional oxford shirting, as the aforementioned processing would suggest
