I lapse into the vernacular a little there upon seeing this rather spectacular polyester shantung, a silk imitation cloth which has on the reverse a pronounced dupion weave which is translated on to the face side more faintly and the face side also has a satin finish. Widely used in soft furnishing these days but it is a dress fabric in a deep salmon colour, 45in wide.
