Vintage - Jean

100% spun rayon dress fabric, only 91 cm (or a yard) wide, in a darkish background with a different medium sized floral design, in lilac, burnt orange, mustard, white and a dark red.  The flowers are in clusters or a spray and in between these clusters are some geometric lines in contrasting, indeed matching, colours. The narrow width pretty much means it has been woven on narrower looms, since they don’t make them any more, there is a chance that this cloth is reasonable old, hence the vintage bit.  The second thing that suggests it is vintage is the print design.  They don’t owe allegiance to anyone and have obviously been invented to compete at some point in time of popular designs of a similar nature.  The cloth itself is wonderful, has a beautiful soft hand and is quite heavy and unless something changes.
