Great options include linen, suiting, twill, denim, and canvas. However, it's advisable to avoid fabrics that can't take a press, since there is a fair amount of fusible interfacing involved in this project.
When it comes to lining fabric, opt for a fabric that can easily slide on and off over other fabrics. Anything with a slightly slippery texture will work well, such as viscose, silk, or a cotton with a tight weave.
It's essential to use woven interfacing that looks like fabric (not the papery kind) and is fusible. While the papery kind can work in a pinch, investing in the woven type will give your blazer a much nicer feel.
