Calico & Muslin

Calico & Muslin

Calico Fabric is a loom state, un-dyed natural cotton made with a low thread count. It is one of the oldest cottons, and is very versatile. Calico fabric can be used for dressmaking, aprons, patchwork quilting, upholstery, furnishings and is often used in craft projects. It is a popular choice for creating prototype garment samples because it is inexpensive and can be easily dyed or printed on.

Muslin is an open weave cloth that has been used for dressmaking, upholstery, and craft projects for years and years. This gentle dressmaking fabric is made with cotton fibers, featuring a looser weave and high thread count to create a soft, flexible and breathable cloth. It is the perfect fabric for those with more sensitive skin; such as babies, children and new mums. Create fabulous swaddle blankets, pajamas and comforters with these child friendly fabrics.
