20% Off Fabric Sale

20% Off Fabric Sale

Everything on this page has a fifth off its usual price. It's where end of line, deadstock and budget dressmaking fabrics land first, before deeper reductions, so it tends to hold the widest choice of any of our sale pages. Quantities are whatever was left when the piece came off the main collection, so if something suits your project it's worth buying the full length you need.

A twenty per cent reduction is usually the first step in a fabric's journey off the main collection rather than the last, which is why this page often has the best choice of the sale pages even if it doesn't have the deepest discount. The pieces here are still in reasonable quantity, so it's a better place to look if you need a full garment length rather than enough for a top.

What ends up here

Some of it is deadstock, surplus fabric woven for a manufacturer's order that was never completed. Some is end of line, where we've carried a cloth for a while and the remaining rolls no longer justify a place in the main collection. Some is simply budget fabric that sits at a keen price to begin with. None of it is reduced because there's anything wrong with the cloth; where a piece does have a flaw, that's stated on the product page.

Buying from a sale page

Buy the length you need in one go. Sale pieces are finite, and while there's usually more of a fabric at this discount level than at deeper ones, it still won't be restocked once it's gone. Check your pattern's requirement for your size and view, allow extra for pattern matching if the fabric has a repeat or a nap, and add a margin if you plan to pre-wash for shrinkage.

Because the pieces on this page come from across the whole range, composition, width and weight vary far more than they would within a single fabric collection, so those details on each product page are worth reading properly. Order Sample if you want to check a shade in daylight before committing.

More reduced fabric

Deeper reductions are on our 50% off fabric sale, and everything currently reduced sits together in the main fabric sale. If you're looking for a particular cloth rather than whatever happens to be discounted, start with our full fabric collection.

Why is this fabric reduced?

Commercial reasons rather than quality ones. Most of it is deadstock, meaning surplus cloth woven for an order that was never completed, or end of line stock where the remaining quantity no longer justifies a place in the main collection, or fabric that simply sits at a budget price. Where a piece is reduced because of an actual flaw, that's stated clearly on the product page.

Can I get more of a sale fabric later?

Generally not. Sale pieces are finite and aren't restocked, so the length shown is what exists. There's often more of a fabric at this discount level than at deeper ones, but it's still safer to buy everything you need in one order. Work out your pattern's requirement first, and allow extra for pattern matching and for shrinkage if you pre-wash.

Is the fabric on this page seconds or flawed?

No, not as a rule. The reduction reflects where the fabric sits in our range rather than its condition, and most of it is perfectly good cloth that has simply come to the end of its run or arrived as mill surplus. On the occasions where a piece does carry a flaw or a fault, it's described on the product page so you know before you buy.

How often does the sale change?

Regularly, as lines end and new surplus arrives. It isn't a seasonal sale with a fixed end date; pieces come on as they leave the main collection and go off when they sell. That means the selection you see today won't be the same in a few weeks, in both directions, so it's worth checking back, and worth buying rather than waiting if you've found the right thing.
