Paisley's teardrop motif has a long history, tracing back to Persian and Kashmiri textile design before becoming closely associated with the Scottish town that gave it its English name, and it saw a strong revival in 1960s fashion that's kept it in regular rotation ever since. It's one of those prints that manages to feel both traditional and current depending on the colourway and the fabric it's printed on.
