What is Cotton Poplin Fabric?

Cotton poplin fabric is a type of lightweight woven fabric made with a combination of cotton and polyester fibres. The fibres are usually combed in order to produce a smooth surface that is resistant to wrinkling and shrinking. Poplin fabric has also been treated with finishing agents like calendaring, mercerizing, or resin-finishing so that it can be more durable and easier to care for. This makes it an ideal choice for clothing that needs to be washed frequently or garments that require extra body.
