Beautifully soft with a relaxed, slightly slubby appearance, this black bamboo and linen fabric has that lovely combination of texture and drape that makes simple garments look rather special. The bamboo gives it a smooth, supple handle while the linen brings a more natural character to the surface, with tiny lighter fibres visible through the black. At 245gsm, it has a reassuring amount of body but still hangs beautifully rather than feeling stiff or heavy.

This is a cracking choice for relaxed trousers, loose jackets, shirt dresses, skirts, pinafores, tunics and simple dresses, particularly when you want something comfortable but a little smarter than an everyday linen. The black makes it endlessly useful, while the bamboo and linen blend stops it looking too severe. Soft, breathable and very wearable, it’s exactly the sort of cloth that can quietly become half your wardrobe.

As the previous review - I washed this fabric first and it was crease free. I too am going to be making trousers and am sure they will be great.

I washed this fabric first and it came off the line completely crease free and ready to work on. Easy to sew and lovely feel to it. My normal trouser pattern came up a touch small so perhaps allow extra on seams first. I meant to and forgot. I have made 3 pairs straight legged trousers out of 5 metres. I am size 24 round the hips sadly!! Its not stretching at the knees, staying crease free very pleased with the fabric.
