The weight of the fabric will often determine the best project. Lightweight linens are ideal for blouses, shirts, summer dresses and relaxed trousers where comfort and drape are important. Mid-weight linens are among the most versatile options, working well for dresses, skirts, co-ords, overshirts and everyday separates. What is the difference between 100% linen and linen blends?

Pure linen has the distinctive texture, breathability and character that linen is known for. It tends to have a little more body and will crease more naturally. Linen blends, often mixed with cotton, viscose or other fibres, can feel softer, drape differently and may require less pressing. Both have their place, and the best choice usually comes down to the style of garment you're making.
