Description
The Toaster Sweaters offer two different stylish high neck top designs that are perfect for staying warm and fashionable during colder seasons. Both designs are easy to sew, making them ideal for sewists of all levels who are interested in working with knit fabrics.
Sweater #1 offers a snug, semi-cropped sweatshirt/sweater design. It is best suited for thick, sturdy knits with ample body, ensuring the neck maintains an upright stance. This version features raglan sleeves, a broad waistband, a relaxed turtleneck, and lengthy cuffs. Its length falls between the high and low hip, making it a versatile choice. While it excels in standard sweatshirt fleece (with stretch), it also boasts an appealing appearance when sewn with a sweater knit, adding an elegant touch.
Sweater #2 presents an effortless top/sweater that effortlessly transitions from casual to chic. It offers a slightly tailored fit around the shoulders and sleeves, gradually flaring at the underarms and hem. The design incorporates a semi-high neck, drawing inspiration from funnel and boat neck styles. Additionally, it features mitred side vents and a high-low hem, with the front hem just below the high hip. Elevate your look by sewing it in boiled wool knit, wool jersey, or ponte for a sophisticated appearance. Alternatively, choose sweatshirt fleece (with stretch) or jersey knit for a more relaxed and casual vibe.
