This waxed cotton fabric measures approximately 138cm wide and has a lighter 4oz weight (around 170gsm), making it a good choice when you want the character of waxed cotton without the heaviness of traditional oilcloth. The wax finish helps repel rain while keeping the fabric breathable and comfortable to wear, so it works well for jackets, coats, bags and everyday outdoor projects.
This cloth has a lightweight dark grey modern look thanks to its fine twill weave, but it still develops the subtle creases and markings that give waxed cotton its distinctive charm over time. Finished in the UK by British Millerain, it’s a versatile cloth that brings together heritage fabric making with a lighter, more wearable weight.
