It’s where we gather all the latest arrivals - from everyday staples to limited-edition ex-designer gems, all waiting for you to make them your own.

What You’ll Find in Our New In Fabrics

We’re always adding to our collection, which means there’s usually something for everyone. In our New In Fabrics category, you’ll find a carefully chosen mix of:

• Dressmaking staples: cotton lawns, viscose prints, jersey knits, crepes and twills that work beautifully for everyday wear.

• Seasonal fabrics – breathable linens and cottons for summer, cosy wool blends and brushed fabrics for autumn and winter, plus special occasion fabrics when party season approaches.

• Deadstock and ex-designer finds – often made in Italy, these are small-batch, high-quality fabrics with limited availability. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

• Sustainable options – we’re always on the lookout for fabrics that are kinder to the planet, whether that’s OEKO-TEX® certified, organic cotton, or natural fibre blends.

Why We Curate, Not Just Stock

At Croft Mill, we don’t just list any fabric. Every piece we bring in is chosen because it’s something we genuinely believe you’ll love sewing with.

We’re makers too. We know what it’s like to hold a pattern in your hands and imagine the fabric that will bring it to life. So we look for fabrics that spark ideas: whether that’s a linen stripe that would make a perfect summer shirt, or a drapey viscose crying out to become a swishy dress.

We test the drape, inspect the weave, run it through our fingers and picture it in action. And when we describe a fabric on our site, we do so honestly - with the aim of helping you feel confident from your screen to your sewing table.

Fabrics That Change With the Seasons

One of the joys of sewing is sewing with the seasons. That’s why our New In range often reflects what’s happening outside your sewing room window.

In spring and summer, you’ll find:

• Lightweight cottons and poplins

• Soft, airy linens in fresh colours

• Viscose fabrics in floral and abstract prints

• Breezy broderie anglaise and embroidered cottons

Come autumn and winter, we bring in:

Inspiration Starts with Fabric

Sometimes a pattern brings you to fabric. But often, it’s the other way around.

You spot something in the New In section — a print you can’t stop thinking about, or a fabric that’s calling out to be touched — and suddenly the project ideas start flowing. That’s one of our favourite parts of sewing: how it can begin with a feeling, a colour, a texture, or a simple swatch.

And if you ever need help matching your ideas to the right fabric, we’re just at the other end of a message. Our team is always happy to suggest pairings, advise on suitability, or help you narrow down your options (because we know how tricky it can be to choose!).

Limited Stock – Don’t Miss Out!

A little heads up - many of our New In fabrics, especially the ex-designer and deadstock ones, are limited in quantity. Once they’ve gone, they’re usually gone for good. So if something catches your eye, don’t wait too long!

That said, we always aim to balance unique finds with reliable favourites — so there’s plenty to come back to, whether you’re sewing this week or planning ahead for the next season.
