Bottle green waxed cotton drill with a clean, slightly dry handle that makes it far easier to work with than traditional oily waxed fabrics. Produced by British Millerain, this is a more wearable take on a classic.
The drill weave gives it strength and structure, while the wax finish provides reliable water resistance without that heavy, sticky feel you sometimes get. At around 400gsm, it has a proper weight and structure, making it ideal for jackets, coats, and hard-wearing outer layers. Despite this, the drier finish keeps it manageable to cut and sew, making it a practical option if you want the performance of waxed cotton without the usual handling issues.
It will soften slightly with use and develop natural creasing, giving it that worn-in look over time without becoming heavy or cumbersome.
If you’ve avoided waxed cotton before because it felt too greasy or stiff, this is a good place to start.
