Description
This cotton fabric has a soft, clean white hue rather than a glaring optical one, knitted with bands of tiny eyelet diamonds set between fine raised ribs, while the reverse is a smooth, plain jersey with a faint texture. At 190gsm it sits comfortably in the mid-weight range, with a soft, springy handle and a fluid drape that falls into relaxed folds.
The openwork, often called pointelle, is knitted into the cloth rather than cut or embroidered, so it's soft against the skin, with no cut edges like broderie. The 95% cotton, 5% spandex blend gives it some natural give for easy wear and lets the air move through on warm days. Be warned that white and eyelets together are fairly candid about what lies beneath, so a nude underlayer is your friend.
