Description

Introducing the Jo Dress + Jumpsuit pattern, a versatile and stylish choice for your wardrobe. This pattern features a V-necked bodice with a sculptural "croissant" sleeve, allowing you to mix and match with your preferred pants or skirt to create either a stunning dress or a chic jumpsuit. The innovative bias-bound slot seam finish adds structure and dimension to your garment, making it an engaging sewing project with a noticeable impact.

Both views of the pattern offer a rounded, cut-on sleeve, giving you the option of a large sleeve with an exaggerated rounded shape or a small sleeve with a more subtle silhouette. The bodice is shaped with front darts and a comfortable elastic waist at the back. The neckline and outer sleeve seams are elegantly finished with our unique slot seam technique. For ease of wear, both views are equipped with a traditional zipper and a fabric zipper pull.

View A showcases a sophisticated midi-length dress with a straight-cut skirt, front darts for shaping, a bias-bound centre slit, and curved front pockets, adding practicality and style to the design. View B offers a trendy jumpsuit option with tapered legs, front darts for a flattering fit, and curved front pockets, ensuring both fashion and functionality.

Recommended fabric

For optimal stability and structure, mid weight woven fabrics like linen, cotton broadcloth, poplin, sateen, ikat, and chambray. These fabrics provide the necessary support to bring out the best in the garment. Additionally, lightweight denim and twill can be used as long as they possess some degree of drape to ensure a good fit and drape for the design.

• Lightweight fusible interfacing, 1/4 yd (0.2 m)

• Waistband elastic, 1 yd (0.9 m) x 1" (25 mm) wide

• Conventional metal or plastic zipper to match fabric, 22" (56 cm) long (smaller sizes may need to shorten the zipper)

• Double fold bias tape, 1/2" (13 mm) wide, View A: 7 yds (6.5 m), View B: 5 yds (4.5 m)

• If you are making your own bias tape: add an additional 1/2 yd (0.5 m) fabric for 58" (1.5 m) wide fabric, or 3/4 yd (0.7 m) fabric for 45" (1.15 m) wide fabric, in addition to a 1" (25 mm) bias tape maker

• Hook and eye closure for back neckline

• Thread in matching colour
