Description
This Italian ex-designer linen has bags of character, combining a wonderfully loose, gauzy weave with a lively check in teal, emerald, mustard, charcoal, cream and fine touches of rust red. Rather than a neat traditional check, the colours and woven lines shift across the surface, giving it a slightly irregular, almost hand-worked appearance. At approximately 140gsm, it is lightweight, breathable and full of natural linen texture.
The open construction gives this 100% linen cloth a relaxed, airy handle with a soft, easy drape. At 153cm wide, it would be particularly lovely for loose shirts, oversized blouses, summer dresses, relaxed trousers, kaftans and lightweight layering pieces. The openness of the weave may call for a lining depending on the garment, but for breezy summer sewing that texture is part of its charm.
