The Sewing Bee Effect
The Sewing Bee returns on 28th July 2026. Discover why the show inspires thousands of sewists every year and the fabrics we expect to see more of.
Rich, versatile and effortlessly sophisticated, this silk crepe de chine comes in a warm tan shade that pairs beautifully with both neutral and earthy palettes. Woven from 100% silk at 16 momme (70gsm), it offers the ideal balance of lightness and durability, creating garments that drape elegantly while maintaining their shape.
Crepe de chine is one of the most practical and wearable silk fabrics available. Its softly textured matte surface provides a refined finish that feels less formal than satin, while the fluid drape lends itself to a wide range of styles. Perfect for flowing dresses, blouses, skirts, wide-leg trousers and tops, this fabric works equally well for relaxed everyday dressing and elevated occasionwear. This is a limited deadstock fabric, so once it's gone, it's gone.
