A Practical Guide to Cotton Lawn Fabric
Cotton lawn is one of those fabrics you come back to, light, breathable and easy to sew. A guide to how it feels, what to make and where to start.
This one looks like somebody bottled a British summer holiday and turned it into fabric. Bold stripes in navy, red, yellow and aqua give this PU coated outdoor fabric a proper cheerful feel, the sort of thing that belongs on deckchairs outside a beach café with an ice cream melting faster than you can eat it. The woven surface has a lightly textured finish with a structured handle and water-resistant coating that helps droplets sit neatly on the surface.
Durable, practical and impossible to ignore, this fabric is ideal for outdoor cushions, windbreaks, awnings, bags and seating covers. The coating gives it protection from showers and splashes while the sturdy woven construction helps it keep its shape well. If plain outdoor fabric feels a bit dull, this certainly isn’t that.
