Description
Fine crinkled ribs run the length of this woven like the grain in a piece of polished wood, and the colour sitting in them is a deep wine red: a black cherry shade with a hint of plum, darker in the troughs and warmer, almost claret, where the light catches each ridge. It's a lightweight 150cm wide cloth at 110gsm, cool and silky in the hand, and it moves in long, liquid folds that hang close to the body rather than standing proud of it.
The blend is 47% rayon, 36% Tencel and 17% nylon, so you get the slippery smoothness of cellulose fibres with a little nylon in the mix. What makes this colourway special is how rich it looks without trying. A wine this deep reads as dressed up, yet the crinkled surface keeps it soft and relaxed rather than formal. It's the colour for autumn weddings, Christmas lunch and anything you'd like to wear with gold jewellery, and it flatters most complexions far more kindly than a bright red.
