Made from 100% Australian virgin wool, this fabric weighs approximately 380–420gsm and combines subtle variations of rusty red and deeper tones to create a lovely mottled appearance. It has a substantial, cosy handle with gentle structure, making it particularly appealing for autumn and winter dressmaking.
At 140cm wide, this fabric is an excellent choice for relaxed coats, jackets, coatigans, gilets and warm winter skirts. The boiled finish helps minimise fraying, making it suitable for simple, unlined garments as well as more traditional lined outerwear. Its earthy red colouring works beautifully with charcoal, navy, camel and natural wool tones.

How do I care for this fabric?
Boiled Wool is a purely natural fabric. It has a natural lanolin protection which makes woollen products so easy to care for. Boiled wool needs to be dry/steam/fresh air cleaned.
Steaming to keep the fabric fresh Please note!! test on a small piece first to see how your fabric is reacting to heat. Use a low heat with steam.
